APRIL 2016 - FEBRUARY 2016
New scheme operated with slightly higher fee (£50 Annual sub, £20 One off). Scaled down to one Skip last 3 months but still made a loss.

APRIL 2017 - MARCH 2018
New scheme planned with Garriock's Ltd. as long as we can get 40 plus Annual subscribers.

2017-2018 Skip Scheme now in operation. Dates for 2018 are Saturday January 27th, 11-1pm and Saturday 3rd March, 11-1pm at Northside Pierhead, Baltasound.

2018-2019 Now taking Annual Memberships for the new scheme. We need 40 people to sign up and will then have the first skip in June.

2018-2019 Skip scheme going ahead. Dates on right hand side panel in bold.

2019-2020 Now taking Annual Memberships for the new scheme. We need 45 people to sign up and will then have the first skip in May.

2019-20 Skip starts on Saturday 1st June 2019.

2020-21 Skip Scheme starts on Saturday 25th July 2020, delayed due to CV-19.

2021 and on
Regular Community Skip Scheme.
(Supported by Unst Community Council in 2020-21; Shetland Community Benefit Fund (Viking Fund) in 2021-22; Saxavord Spaceport in 2022-23; and Cooke Scotland for 2024-2025. Averaging 50 to 60 members/households per year plus those paying on the day.

Free trailer collection service.

2024 Scheme no longer supported by Shetland Amenity Trust. Metal, tyres, bikes going into main skips. White goods separated and taken through SIC scheme.

2025: January, March - dates to be confirmed.
£60 annual sub for 6 Skip Days per year, £25 for one-off drop.
Free trailer service for those unable to get to skip.

The SIC does run a separate monthly collection scheme for Bulky Household items :
6 items for £40, 12 for £80 - or £20/£40 if you are on benefits.
